Looking for Co-founders for my Payments/FX platform startup model.

👋 Hi all, I’m building AfriXPay, a cross-border payments and subscription platform for Africa → Global commerce.

Problem: African creators/freelancers struggle to receive international payments and FX conversions.
Solution: AfriXPay makes it simple to accept local NGN → convert seamlessly → settle merchants in USD (or other currencies).

âś… I already have a vision deck, system flow diagrams, and MVP outline.
💡 Now I’m seeking technical cofounder(s) (backend, payments integration, or full-stack) excited about fintech and emerging markets.
This is equity-based (for now) with a big vision: Africa-to-World payments infrastructure.

If this sounds interesting, let’s connect here on Indie Hackers!

Hey! If you are looking for a technical co-founder we help non-technical founders build their dream project as Nomu Labs. We act as your external CTO, building MVPs, validating with early users, and iterating until you have a strong product. Feel free to reach out!

Hi Doga, thanks for reaching out and sharing Nomu Labs’ approach. Right now, I’m focused on finding a true technical co-founder to join AfriXPay as a partner with equity. But I’ll keep Nomu Labs in mind if we ever need external support for development work. Appreciate the message!

Hey, your idea seems fantastic. For a technical Co-Founder, are you planning to give them equity upfront, or were you thinking of finding someone willing to work for profit-sharing once the product proves itself?

Hi Tanjim, thanks for the thoughtful question. I’m looking for a true technical co-founder who joins AfriXPay as a partner. That means equity (with a vesting schedule to protect both sides), not just profit-sharing. The goal is to build this long-term together, not as a short-term contract. Happy to discuss more if this aligns with what you’re looking for.

Yeah, I want to discuss more about it. Where can i shoot you a DM?

        1. 1

Great to hear that, Tanjim! You can reach me via LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/iniobong-udoette-7a0795195 or by email at [email protected] , From there, we can set up a time to chat more about AfriXPay’s vision and the co-founder role.

Hi, AfriXPay’s vision for Africa-to-World payments is inspiring! I’m an entrepreneur with 3 companies and 50+ projects, skilled in backend, payments integration, and full-stack dev. Excited to join as a technical co-founder for equity. Can I review your vision deck and discuss next steps? DM me!

      Hi meanindependent,

Thanks for reaching out , I really appreciate your interest in AfriXPay! Your background in backend, payments integration, and full-stack development is exactly the kind of expertise I’ve been looking for in a technical co-founder.

I’d be glad to share the vision deck and handover note with you so you can see the roadmap and MVP scope clearly. Could you please share your best email address so I can send those across?

Also, I’ve put together a technical report (Jupyter/IPYNB format with sample code and flows). It’s not meant to be a final build, but it gives a foundation of how the system could work. I’d be happy to include that as well if you’d like a deeper dive.

Finally, would you be open to a short 30-minute Whatsapp call later this week? That way we can walk through the deck together and explore how we might collaborate.

      Looking forward to your reply!

      Best regards,
      Ini
      Founder, AfriXPay

Hi @IniDavid01 let's connect I'm focused on the African continent - email me athomas@nayalabs .io and let's find some time to discuss further.

Thanks for reaching out, Thomas! AfriXPay is at the sandbox + MVP outline stage, and I’m currently looking for a technical cofounder to build and grow this together. Happy to connect — what’s the best way to set up a call?

  5. 1

That’s an exciting vision, IniDavid 👏. Solving cross-border payment and FX challenges for African creators is a huge opportunity — especially with the subscription economy growing fast.

Instead of only looking for a cofounder, you can also consider working with a dedicated development team that already has experience in secure payment integrations, FX flows, and compliance-ready fintech apps. That way, you can move faster on your MVP while still keeping flexibility for future partnerships.

Hi EmilySmith465, thanks so much for the kind words and the suggestion! You're right, working with an experienced dev team is a great way to accelerate development, and I appreciate you sharing that option.
For this early stage of AfriXPay, however, I'm specifically looking for a technical co-founder. I believe having a partner who is deeply invested in the mission with shared ownership is crucial for navigating the challenges and long-term vision of building foundational payments infrastructure.
Thanks again for engaging with the post!
