My name is Larissa. I am a lawyer who recently discovered a dark side to our society, and wants to do something about it.
My client was sold as a slave on a marketplace platform. That's right. The filtering system was totally inadequate to pick up on this kind of activity - in fact they all are.
I have the technical foundation to create a software which will find this activity, together with the legal and business expertise needed to make this a profitable business (predicted min. £300k in first 12 months).

Basically it means that these types of post are flying under the radar - the websites monitor for things like semantics but not the specific posts I am talking about.
Who would pay for a better filter? Is the money coming from a grant?
I think all the big sites would. Don’t you think they would/should if people are getting away with buying/selling slaves online?
No. Why would they? This feature would be removing revenue from their website. They probably are already aware this is an issue and are doing the minimum they are legally required to do in order to continue capturing that revenue source.
Look at the website backpage, which was famous for prostitution listings in the USA. It took throwing the executives in jail to solve that problem of removing sex traffic listings.
Are the big players facing lawsuits or jail time right now from this?
Surely that’s an example of exactly why they should be preventing this kind of activity than just letting it happen?
They were very aware of what their website was being used for and yet the continued to do nothing until they were put in jail.
Feel free to prove me wrong! That would be awesome if the world worked that way. Maybe try to reach out the site owners to see how much they care.
I wouldn’t invest too much time building anything until you know this is something the site owner cares about. Better filtering will reduce their revenue and increase their costs (I assume you are going to charge them?). I don’t see any benefits to them that are not moral.
Essentially I don't want to give the game away but I believe this case and others show that the courts are absolutely unwilling to allow owners of sites to get away with knowingly allowing this kind of activity without repercussions. My product aims to alleviate that responsibility and therefore the fines/litigation costs that they could end up paying.
