Looking for: engineering managers who spend a lot of time on project management

Hi! I'm building a product that completes basic project management tasks for companies that can not afford to hire a full-time project manager.

To validate this idea, I'd love to talk to anyone that has the following workflow:

  • Uses Jira to track tickets and development details
  • Uses google sheets or no software to plan out their roadmap or track progress
  • Has not hired a project or program manager yet
  • Deadlines are important (e.g. is building products for other businesses)
  • Is either an Engineering or Product Manager who has taken on project management duties

If you're willing to have a 30minute chat to help validate my idea please send me a message or comment below! I just want to have a casual conversation to learn about your workflow, challenges you face, things you've tried out!

Thank you!

What does your role look like as an engineering manager?
  1. Spend >30% of time on project management + Have a project/program manager
  2. Spend >30% of time on project management + DON'T have a project/program manager
  3. Spend <30% of time on project management + Have a project/program manager
  4. Spend <30% of time on project management + DON'T have a project/program manager

@feefifofisa, I would be willing to chat or answer some questions via email. I may not fit your target exactly because I do not consider lack of project management a problem, but I fit your demographic in other ways.

Hi Bill! Thank you so much! Do you mind sending me an email at [email protected] to coordinate times? Or if it's easier to do directly, here's a link to my calendly: https://calendly.com/lisaljiang/60min

It would be so helpful to understand your personal experience and why project management isn't a problem for you. I'm curious, what motivates you to help even though you don't face this problem?

@feefifofisa Sure thing, I'll set something up on your Calendly.

I'm always interested to hear new ideas and help people work through the validation process, and it is always good for me to hear new approaches. I hope I can offer some helpful information or suggestions when we chat.

I'm not currently facing this problem because I'm fortunate to have resources and a great team with my current role. However, the idea sounds like it has potential.

Sounds great! Really excited to chat!
