Looking for feedback for my personal blog

Hey folks,

I am a growth hacker working on different kind of companies such as fast growing startups, shit projects or agencies and 2 months ago I left my job and looking for a new journey.

But these days I have lots of free times and I always wanted to create something that can provide benefit for others without any expectation.

So I have built my own blog https://eyupcanpoyraz.com and started to write around growth marketing, startups and technology topics.

I have 3 different concepts;

  • Articles that I express my thoughts
  • Case studies that I struggled on something
  • Curation collections that I put different contents & sources I like.

I already reached out to +1K visitors but since I find Indiehackers as the most qualified platform including the most genius people, I am really wondering what you think about the design, concepts and my writing style.

Any feedback or recommendation is very welcome. Thanks!

Congratulations on creating and launching your blog!

I would recommend cross-posting articles to other platforms such as Medium. I launched my blog last month, and it helped me get more views/followers.

      Hi Nicolas,

I was thinking the same at the beginning. But I am wondering how it would effect my traffic if the content is doubled. Have you experienced?

Duplicated content is bad, but Google won't penalise you if you set the canonical link properly. On medium, you can do that by using the import tool or by editing the article's canonical link after publication.

        For example:

Google can still decide to send the traffic to the non-canonical link. In my case, I don't get much organic traffic on my blog because the domain is fairly new, so its "reputation" is still low. More on that here: https://ahrefs.com/blog/domain-rating/

I'm still cross-posting as the increased traffic from Medium more than compensates for the lower SEO, and I believe that I will get the SEO benefits later when my domain reputation will have increased. I might be wrong though. I would love to hear the opinion of others that have tried doing the same thing and are further along the journey ;)

Man, thank you so much for explaining! It is very helpful and will definitely put the "lights on" on my way.

    Initial impressions:

    1. Not really sure what the point of the blog is -- obviously to have a platform for your writing, but who is your audience? is there a theme? Why should your audience want to read? -- totally cool if it's just a place to put your thoughts, too.

    2. Landing page -- not sure it's all that relevant b/c most traffic will hit post, but I wouldn't push the categories, rather I'd push the content + snippet, so I get a preview of what you're up to -- again, probably not relevant.

    Hi Eyüp!

What do you think of these small changes I made?

      Hi Dan!

Thank you so much for the recommendation! Honestly, I really like it, especially the personal space term. Thanks :)
