Looking for feedback for website and Database Tool!

http://www.querypie.com

Hey everyone! We’ve recently launched a new Database Tool (open Beta) and we were hoping for some feedback on both the tool and the landing page.

A bit about our product: QueryPie is a cross-platform IDE for multiple databases. It’s currently available for Windows, Mac, and Linux! (hoping to have it mobile-accessible in the future as well)

A few key features of QueryPie:

  • Fast auto-complete that makes writing queries quick and easy
  • Intuitive UI/UX that speeds up query search/execution
  • Multiple Query run/execution and side-by-side results
  • In-line Data Edit feature that, with just a few simple clicks, can edit query results as well as the data browser and table structures!
  • SQL History
  • Safe SSL Connection
  • SSH tunneling
  • Gorgeous design!
  • And much more~

Current Databases available: MariaDB, MySQL, AWS for MySQL (PostgreSQL coming soon)
Your support is very appreciated! Feel free to share with us any questions, suggestions, or bugs you encounter. Thank you, everyone!

Hi, your product looks great, just out of interest why did you decide to build this as installed software rather than as a web based SaaS product?

    1. 1

Hey there! So sorry about getting back to you so late!! :[

We chose to make QueryPie an installed software rather than web-based because due to the way web browsers work, the more data (and future visualization elements like charts and maps) is generated on the dashboard, the slower the speed. And with installed programs, we can provide faster UI/UX because more CPU/memory is available compared to web browsers.

If you have any other questions, please let us know! We are always happy to receive feedback!!

Sounds good, thanks for getting back to me!

    Hi,
your product looks very promising. I would like to try it for my Postgresql db but it's not ready yet :)
I would suggest to specify more clear which features are available/not available for 2 different plans as now it's a little bit confusing.
    Good luck!

      Hi @Zencentric!
I'm happy to report that QueryPie is now supporting PostgreSQL!
If you have a chance, please give it a try and let us know what you think. :]

        Hi,
I finally found some time and tried your product.
        Several notes:

        1. Very dark interface with low contrast makes working with it hard. My monitor has a very low contrast itself and all elements are barely visible.
        2. Impossible to enter just a connection string. I use elephantsql for my test databases and they provide the full connection string. I have to spend several minutes extracting user name, password and other parameters from it.
        3. For some reason, I couldn't add a row.
        4. The program forced me to enter my email twice, I didn't get why.
Well... overall impression - not bad, but I don't know why I would prefer it over other, free solutions.
But I still believe it has potential. You just need to figure out how to be different, more convenient than other products.
          I wish you good luck!

            No problem! Good luck!

Hey! Looks great. I'm curious though - what's the reason you're giving it away for free until the end of this year? Is that a strategy to gain customer data? Do you plan to automatically charge them after the free period?

    1. 1

It's still in Open Beta, so of course we won't be charging anything right now. :]
We don't ask for any credit card/payment information when you sign up, and will NEVER automatically charge anyone without their consent. You have nothing to worry about!
