Hi all, my site is readlist.io -- I'm hoping to get some feedback on the landing page. Anything is fair game -- how easy is it to understand what the site is about, is the layout confusing, etc.
If you give feedback, please share your URL in the comments and I'll do my best to give you feedback on your site as well.
Cheers!
I like and as someone else pointed out, Goodreads sucks these days. The only reason I keep going back to it, my notes are saved from my kindle, otherwise, I would have jumped that platform awhile back.
The thing that stands out for me on this site, when I go to sign up I see all the reasons why I should, I get what the site does but I am not sure others would on their first visit to the site. Make sure those benefits are seen on the page and not just on the signup form.
Awesome Start!
Yeah Goodreads was bought by Amazon so they can do lots of cool integrations with the Kindle that Readlist probably will never do. But I look of Readlist more of a community and recommendation engine, rather than an Evernotes-type of site.
You're spot on about the signup benefits. The site has been getting decent traffic, but not many people are signing up. Partly because there really isn't much incentive to sign up yet, realistically. But user-only features coming soon like liking/commenting on lists should help with that. There will be more benefits to feature.
Thanks for the feedback!
Great job so far! I love the look. Very clean
Thanks!
Hey, I really like the front page.
How about adding a social activity feed? For example, "Josh has added 2 new books to his 'Top 10 Books Ever' list".
That's a really good idea...will definitely add that one in the near future. Thanks!
I like it, since Goodreads basically sucks this is much needed. I found myself wanting to keep scrolling down farther and see more lists, yeah man, more content!
Hey, thanks so much! I'm actually implementing an endless scroll feature this week :D
While on the site, did you click on any of the #topic tags at the top, or did you just stay on the Featured tab?
And I agree, Goodreads blows. Book lovers deserve better, haha
