I’m getting started on this no-code journey and I’m looking for help to identify either the type of website or process that would go into building a site similar to Dev.to
I can see it sharing some properties of a job board and a blog. My goal is to have individual accounts be able to upload their content and then possibly have a portion of the site that also acts as an aggregator.
I’d be insanely grateful for any guidance or direction as to where to start looking to build a site like that. THANKS! ✌🏽
Right away this looks like it can be built using webflow, zapier, airtable, and memberstack (if you're looking for account creation).
Memberstack is just something you integrate into your site, so not too much of a learning curve there. the other tools, particularly webflow, have a decent learning curve.
I imagine you could build build this after playing around with these tools and watching tutorials on all of the features this site has (comments, authentication, saving, post submission) as well as styling (flexbox, positioning, site structure)
I launched Gradschool.co today, we have some content that will help you out with building this (+ a community!) and we're constantly making/uploading more!
This is great info! I’ll be testing this out this weekend. Thanks for the help, I’ll definitely be spending some time on Gradschool!
I bet @sethk could help
Thanks for the shoutout! :)
yeah man :)
Can you give more details about what you're trying to achieve? Unfortunately, there's a fine line between no-code and code that can only be determined by details. Easy requirements might be extremely hard to do with no-code, or complicated requirements might be trivial.
This is very true
Check out Bubble.
They have everything you need to learn if you put in the work 👊.
I’ve only recently started playing around with it, but it looks quite powerful and good starting place.
Thanks! I just started going through their tutorials the other day, good to know I could invest my time in Bubble to figure this out!
I've learned a ton about no-code from Twitter! Definitely recommend following @bentossell and the crew at Makerpad - I believe they have some free tutorials as well.
Thanks! I’ll definitely be giving him a follow!
Hey! I started https://nocode.mba to help with exactly this!
I'd probably build a first version of this using Glide. You could definitely build a way for users to upload content and then also have it display as an aggregator. Glide will allow you to build a mobile-focused web app, but it can also be displayed as a desktop site with a Glide Pro account.
Awesome, I’ll have to check t Glide. I’ve seen your site around and it seems pretty great! I just need to pull the trigger and join lol
Yeah Glide is a great tool - thanks so much! If you aren't already, if you sign up for our newsletter you'll get notified before any price increases for the membership
