Hi,
I run a web app called Leavetrack. It has about 20 customers paying either £13 or £19 per month depending on their employee levels.
I have never found the time to properly invest in marketing or sales. There is definitely a market for this type of solution. A bit of research shows a competitor (Timetastic) making over £500k per year in revenue.
The app is very customisable - we have users all over the world.
I am looking for someone who can invest some time into marketing, user acquisition, onboarding etc. If you have knowledge of web development using Rails that would be great. In return, happy to come to an arrangement on profit sharing.
Robin, if you're up for it, I'm freshly "advanced google analytics" certified and looking to put some of the learnings to the test in a real environment... maybe yours?
I'm currently head of growth at a series D stage saas venture, and previously ran my own venture that was backed by Draper and did ~$200k in revenue.
google analytics may not have crossed your mind, but it's a great single source of truth for basic questions like which of my marketing/sales campaigns resulted in that sign-up? you'll be surprised but even at series D and doing millions in revenue, we still don't readily know what brought someone to our contact us page.
it'll pay dividends to set GA up alongside your marketing/sales campaigns because you'll know what's working, what's not and can double down on campaigns that get play. let me know, i'm bay area based!
Sounds like an amazing opportunity. Jealous that my web app doesn't have traction yet.
Hi Robin
One thing that works really well in SaaS for SMB is to create a referral system.. Have you tried it?
Best
Ana
Hi Ana,
Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, I have a referral scheme active but now I look I don't think I'm promoting it enough to existing customers so that's an action for me!
Robin
You could also do some outreach/outbound yourself in Linkedin + offer something different like amazon vouchers for referrals or something for the summer.
I've found the best rewards aren't always product discount or money.
Something that is also very hot right now in managing time in remote/distributed teams.
Try writing some Linkedin content with right hashtags around your UVP.
There are much bigger competitors than the ones you've identified. That's a whole category called paid time off management/tracking. So, congrats for finding users!
I do know a bit of Rails (just posted about that in fact...) so maybe we can talk about it in more details. :)
