Looking for Marketing/SEO expert to help build a really cool SEO tool.

Hey,
I’m a developer working on a tool for SEO. I have 12+ years of experience building tools and SaaS products.
I’m based in western Canada (PST timezone). Ideally looking for someone in Canada, the US, or Mexico for timezone alignment, but I’m open to other locations if the fit is right.

Backstory:

I built a solution for myself to analyze my SEO data faster.
Instead of clicking through dashboards and exporting CSVs, I can now get the insights I need in seconds. It’s been a game changer for how I work on my own sites.
After using it for a while, I realized this could be a real product. I did market research and found competitors who are doing very well with validated pricing, real paying customers, and growing user bases.
After analyzing them closely, I noticed they’re missing some important features and there’s a clear gap I want to exploit.
I’m not going to share too many details publicly, but the market is clearly validated and there’s real demand.

What I bring:

Founder and full stack developer with 12+ years of experience
I can build the entire SaaS product quickly, including frontend, backend, and infrastructure
Strong knowledge of modern tools and trends, allowing us to move very fast
A working local system that I already use multiple times per week
Ego free cofounder mentality. SEO is not my expertise and I’m ready to take advice from someone who knows the space
Long term commitment. This is not a side project I’ll drop in a couple of months

What I’m looking for:

Someone very knowledgeable in marketing and SEO
Someone who actually practices SEO, not just theory. You’ve ranked sites and done the work
Strong intuition for which insights actually move the needle for SEO practitioners
Ability to help shape the product roadmap based on real user needs
Willingness to be hands on early on, including talking to users, shaping features, and possibly helping with marketing
Bonus if you already have an audience or network in the SEO space

The opportunity:

Validated market with competitors charging real money
Clear gap in the market
Opportunity to build something meaningfully better
Looking for a true cofounder with a 50/50 equity split, not a contractor or advisor

What I’m not looking for:

Someone who only wants to advise from the sidelines
Someone who wants equity in exchange for introductions or high level strategy
Someone who can’t commit real time

Next steps:

If this sounds interesting, send me a DM.
I’m ready to start working on this ASAP and looking for someone equally motivated.

Talk soon.

I’d love to help map out real user pains and shape an angle that stands out. If you already have early mockups or data flows, I can give quick feedback on messaging and positioning.

    Hi Patrick,

12 years of building experience is a huge asset. As an SEO practitioner, I completely relate to the "dashboard fatigue" - speed to insight is everything.

Regarding the market gap you mentioned:

I've been researching the emerging GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) landscape. One clear insight: while legacy tools dominate traditional search data, there's a significant lack of accessible diagnostic tools for AI visibility.

I built a lightweight scanner to quantify this: ai-lens dot app

It's live and gathering early feedback. Shows the "Citation Gap" between Google rankings and ChatGPT mentions.

Thought you might find it interesting -could be a differentiating angle for your roadmap.

Best of luck finding the right partner.

Hi Patrick, I'm an SEO, and I would like to have a deeper conversation about your situation, goals, and what you already have. Send me a message on LinkedIn (hevcarol)

This is a strong foundation. You’ve already done the hardest part most founders skip: building something you actually use and validating the market before scaling it

One thing I’ve seen with SEO tools at this stage is that the real leverage comes from early user conversations understanding which insights practitioners actually care about versus what looks good in dashboards

That’s where Reddit has been powerful for founders I work with. The right SEO-focused subreddits are full of practitioners openly sharing pain points, workflows, and feature gaps. When positioned correctly, it’s not marketing it’s live product discovery and early traction in one place

If you’re open to it, I’m happy to share how I’d use Reddit to validate features, attract the right SEO users, and shape early go to market without noise or spam. Feel free to DM me

This looks like a solid and realistic opportunity. Having a working system built from real SEO needs, not just theory, already puts you ahead of many tools on the market. The focus on actionable insights and reducing workflow friction is exactly what SEO practitioners need.

I actively work on content-driven projects in the gaming niche, including Bussid, where fast analysis, intent clarity, and feature prioritization directly affect rankings and growth. Tools that help spot gaps, content decay, and competitive opportunities quickly are especially valuable in spaces like this. A product shaped by real SEO use cases and hands-on collaboration has strong potential.

    Hi Patrick,

Your post stood out. The combination of a validated market, a clear technical gap, and your builder’s mindset is exactly the kind of foundation I look for.

I’m a marketing strategist and copywriter with a systematic approach to turning technical solutions into market‑leading products. My framework is built for exactly this: moving from competitor analysis to a fully‑engineered sales machine that doesn’t just list features, but commands attention and closes deals.

How I see your opportunity through that lens:

    1. Market Intelligence: The SEO tool space is Level 3 (noisy, skeptical). Your target isn’t just “SEO people” – it’s solution‑aware professionals stuck in manual‑reporting loops, likely oscillating between frustration and grudging acceptance. Winning requires speaking directly to that frustration and guiding them toward clarity and control.

    2. Product Invention: The feature gap you’ve identified is the raw material for a Unique Mechanism. My process helps package that into:

      • A sharp USP (e.g., “The only SEO tool that does X so you can achieve Y without the busywork.”)
      • An irresistible offer architecture (pricing, packaging, guarantee) that makes it a no‑brainer.
      • A Big Idea that frames your tool as the obvious next step for anyone tired of dashboard‑hopping.
    3. Copywriting & Launch: The copy won’t just say “faster analysis.” It will articulate the user’s current pain so precisely they feel seen, then walk them step‑by‑step up the emotional ladder from overwhelm to empowered action. This is what drives conversions and builds a fan base, not just a user base.

    What I bring beyond theory:

    • A proven, step‑by‑step system to build the marketing foundation in parallel with your development.
    • Hands‑on execution—from defining the exact starving avatar to writing the launch sales letter, emails, and sales sequences.
    • A co‑founder mindset: I’m not an advisor. I build, ship, and iterate.

I’m ready to commit real time and own the market strategy with the same intensity you bring to the code.

If you’re open to reaching, I have left my email down below.
