Looking for others interested in iOS, Swift, SwiftUI
I want to make an iOS app. I'm an experienced Python developer, but I have no recent iOS experience.
As a new iOS developer, it seems like there’s a ton of stuff for me to learn: Swift, SwiftUI, Xcode, Combine, Objective-C, UIKit, Storyboards… the list goes on. SwiftUI seems like the fastest way to get from zero to an app in the App Store, so that's what I'm going to focus on for my first app.
I'm planning on building my first app by myself, but I'm hoping to find other people who are interested in the same topics as me and are at a similar stage in their iOS learning paths. Maybe we could team up and form a mastermind group to hold each other accountable?

Hey, I'm working learning iOS swift from the top Udemy course. It's pretty self-guided so I don't know if it's worth pairing up. Why are you interested in learning Swift and what type of projects are you working on?

I've been looking at Ray Wenderlich videos, a Big Nerd Ranch textbook, and Hacking with Swift so far. I think they're all high quality resources.
I'm interested in creative writing, so I want to make an app for writing prompts. Find prompts, save favorites, etc. It's not a totally original idea, but I mostly want to make it so that I have a tangible project to work on while learning Swift and SwiftUI.
I don't think we need to pair up, but I'm not opposed to poking each other every week or so to check-in and see what progress we've each made.
Yeah, the Angela Wu one. It's pretty basic and I always find it fun to review the fundamentals.
Your app sounds like a good way to learn the basics, especially if that is what you are interested in and will keep you going. Angela had a section in her course where she makes a quiz app. While it's not exactly the same as what you're describing, it involves retrieving data from a structure and other similar parts.
I have a lot of background in web dev and I've started to realize that Swift has a lot of parallel concepts (rendering views, handling actions, etc.). The thing that scares me the most about making an app is figuring out how I would get users. In the Udemy course, they talk about how there are so many "zombie" apps in the app store that no one sees. It seems so hard to come up with a useful idea!
