Looking for partenr(s) to start dev agency.

I would like to build a dev agency that would focus on web development with Angular and React.
I am looking for non technical partners as well.

Hi guys! Let me add a couple of lines here.

I've been running an agency business since 2007. I totally agree with Konstantin — it's extremely hard to become profitable as an agency.

I started by building the reputation with my initial clients. Year by year supplying more & more hours/resources I managed to triple the numbers. The income as an agency never tripled, but the amount of my work & responsibilities multiplied to the amount of people/projects I needed to manage!

My assumptions led me to the trap — I wanted to scale an agency and keep my products as extras I could upsell to my clients. (We built 3 online products back in 2009, https://rocketdash.io/philipp).

Latest project I was involved in was all about building a product alone and we scale it to 5M in ARR in 3 years (management team had 20+ years niche experience), profit margin was around 20%. Covid hit, sales tanked to 1% (travel industry).

Today, I see the only way to be successful is to build a product for clients needs, and sell your agency services for integrations, API setups and maintenance.

Hey Joe, I'm looking to add a development department to my agency. I'd love to have a chat a see whether we could possibly work together in the near future. Most likely through a strategic partnership.

    Hi Joe,

I'm a fullstack/React freelancer, working on growing my consulting brand as well as running my own projects.

Why would you like to open an agency if you can freelance alone? What can the agency improve?
What kind of partner do you need? e.g. Sales, Marketing, Development, etc.
Do you have existing/potential clients already?

@kka Currently I work for a small agency as front-end developer.
I can see how big the demand for good tech agencies.

I would have MAYBE one client if we would start tomorrow. But I think with a right team would not be "VERY" difficult to find work.

I was wondering to start the whole jurney by myelf.

The key here is "demand for good tech agencies". Good here means reputable, and the reputation takes time. From other agency founders I heard that it may take 1-3 years to become profitable as an agency.

I've been freelancing about 7 years and from my experience, it's easier to find projects as an individual rather than as an agency but I'm so called "offshore" developer, so my experience may differ.

What I would recommend is to try freelance first to develop your selling skills, and when you have a long-term project/client which has an amount of work you can't perform alone, scale by hiring assistants and not partners.

Anyway, since I'm also working on my agency brand, let's stay connected in case we can be of any help to each other.

          @kka that's right!

I will start solo agancy. The very first step will be create website and start to build a brand.

I have just sent you a connection request on LinkedIn!
