Looking for people interested in "crowdsourced advocacy"

With the Black Lives Matter protests going on, I've noticed a huge wave of people sharing email templates in social media to send to local governments on behalf of people that were killed by the police. None of this is well-centralized to see all of the email templates that have been created for various issues, how many times it was shared, or how many times it has been sent.

There is also this organization that outlines phone scripts by issues and who your local representatives are (https://5calls.org/).

There are three models we can think through:

  1. B2C where we have people upload the emails and call scripts they've used to contact local representatives. Revenue would be based on ads.
  2. B2B where community advocacy/non-profit groups can upload their own email templates/call scripts and send it to their members to take action. This product would provide analytics on how many members actually emailed or called based on self-reporting. They could also create their own events to share it with their members. Revenue would be based on a subscription model.
  3. Non-profit

I lean towards #2.

This is right now in ideation phase - I have friends who work in community organizing and talk about how they are in dire needs of new tools for community and voter outreach. I'd love to partner up with someone on the technical side - I'm a Product Manager by trade and have no issues going to get some customer feedback and market validation. But this area is in dire need of innovation all-up so honestly would love to work with anyone who wants to put their brainpower into this space.

Have you seen Open Virtual Phone Bank (OpenVPB) by NGP VAN?https://www.openvpb.com/VirtualPhoneBank/

Nice! I like the #2 idea as well — you could create a pretty quick MVP using no-code/low-code tools like Webflow (for the website) and Memberstack (user logins & subscriptions) — tracking the number of people that 'download' a template and have them report back when they successfully send a copy of it as well.

Let me know if you have questions about Memberstack (I'm on the team) 🙂
