Looking for some product strategy/marketing help

Hey all. I'm head dev at @yalasocial (https://yala.social) and we're looking for an individual or small agency to help develop and execute a product/marketing strategy for the next stage of our growth. Our app is sort of a Buffer/Canva/Promo mashup, allowing one to post content and create branded images & videos. There is also a Slack/FB Messenger bot interface which we have had some success with in the past.

Please get in touch here or via the email on our site if you think you're a good fit or can recommend someone who is.

Thanks a bunch.

    Hi Jeff,

The tool itself feels really well made, but still looks a little early for growth.
How many DAUs do you have right now? What % of users is using the app 20+ days a month?

I didn't get into the scheduling bit, but it seems like you have a lot left to work on that seems pretty straight forward (i.e. will you add instagram/pinterest scheduling?) -- do you have a roadmap planned?

    [1] Product

    Some questions I would ask:

Is your main focus on video ads?

What outcomes do your users want? Which features are your users using most right now?

Can you see which features your power users (people using the app at least 20+ days/month) are using?

Can you segment your users into using different feature sets? Which feature sets are most common?

Where are your users posting/scheduling? How successful are their posts?

    [2] Landing Page:

From your landing page, I don't really understand the concept/what you're trying to sell

    i.e.
    "Create stunning 7-second video ads"
"Capture the attention of your target customers, drive awareness and increase sales with videos. Bring your business to life with video ads that work!"

Is that your main use case and what people are paying you for?

This just tells me you're a tool for making short video ads, but that feels more like a feature than your main benefit?

    Compare to buffer:

"Build your audience and grow your brand on social media"
Plan, collaborate, and publish thumb-stopping content that drives meaningful engagement and growth for your brand.

You can see that Buffer is really pushing the benefits and keying in on the real things their users want, while explaining what it does.

The header menu is really overwhelming at the moment. I would simplify it.

It's a weird mix of content/links. Some of the content just pushes me away from doing anything, so it can definitely be removed. I would really scrutinize what needs to be there.

[3] Next step is to talk to your users.

    Questions to ask:

What are they using your app for?
What is their specific work flow?
    What is it missing?
What do they need to be able to do a better job?
What are some issues they've had in the past week?
What other apps are they using?
    What is their role/position?
What kind of content are they consuming?
Where do they hang out online?
Ask them about specific content ideas you have to see if it would be interesting to them.
