They say as an entrepreneur the best thing to do is to scratch your own itch. Three years ago I was frustrated with project management tools like Asana/Basecamp and todo lists like Todoist/Wunderlist, so I hired a few engineers and built a product.
Over the three years, the small engineering team was able to build a fairly decent product and generate some revenue (albeit very small). Two years ago I I had to step away, because of an opportunity I just couldn't pass up. The company hasn't had any real leader and really has only had one engineer working on the product and no one running sales/marketing.
The product is pretty good. You can try it out for yourself: www.hellofocus.com
It does have a few bugs here and there, but overall it's solid. I'm still an incredibly active user on the product. I spend probably close to 40-50 hours using the product on a monthly basis. There is also a core group of users that fall into the same bucket as me (heavy daily active users).
I've continued to invest in technical development over the past two years, hoping things might pick up on the business side… But I've come to the realization that until someone is leading the company (especially from a sales & marketing perspective) the company will continue to stagnant.
I thought about selling the company, but I believe there is a larger opportunity if the right person can come along.
So, I'm looking for that right person. I'm looking for someone:
Who is entrepreneurial
Who has experience in sales or marketing
Who has an understanding of SaaS metrics
Who wants to grow a business (hire people, manage operations, etc…)
I do not have the time to run the business, so really I consider myself an investor at this stage. There could be a number of paths forward for the right person and happy to discuss those options.
If you're interested I'd love to hear from you:
