Time tracking + invoicing in one place makes a lot of sense — especially for freelancers juggling multiple clients.

What’s your angle for standing out in a pretty crowded space?

I was initially just adding features for members of my family members to recreate their flow with time tracking to invoicing. Then later I decided I wanted to add features to do what Harvest did but maybe with a more modern feel. My angle was a more configurable version of Harvest, but I'm still fleshing out where this belongs.

That makes sense — a more configurable Harvest sounds useful, but I think the challenge in this space is less features and more positioning.

A lot of tools like this seem to stand out by focusing on a very specific group first (freelancers, agencies, consultants, developers, etc.) rather than trying to compete with Harvest directly on features.

I agree with what you are saying. I think Clockout focuses on freelancers and small teams in the online space. (We don't have a team yet but it will focus on one when one joins). I've added all the escape hatches and configurability nuances with creating invoices and time tracking that may annoy solo freelancers.

          Thanks for the feedback!
