Looking for UX help/feedback/consulting

I'm looking for someone to provide feedback and perhaps consulting on our Chrome Extension (www.workspacemgr.com). We have the overall desired functionality figured out and now want to focus on making it look better as we target more growth. I would welcome to hear how others have found UX support.

    Hi Bob!

From a core functionality standpoint, the extension looks quite handy!

Top things from a UI design standpoint:

    1. The purple is a fine brand color, but I'd reduce the use of it. Make the section headings (currently white text on a purple background) use purple text on white background.
    2. Give additional (consistent) padding on the x-axis to the sections (http://prntscr.com/qh0zv1)
    3. Remove the black borders. If grouping is unclear then add additional margin on the y-axis to visually separate the sections.
    4. Add bullets (small squares will probably match your current aesthetic best) to the list of currently open tabs/workspaces (red arrows here http://prntscr.com/qh10i4). It's unclear with the longer items if the text is line wrapping or if the next line is a separate entry.
    5. Reduce the margin-left (red box here http://prntscr.com/qh10i4)

It's late at night for me, so I can give it an install and check the UX behavior tomorrow...

For more info on general UX principles (written by a developer for developers) I've just launched a 5 chapter UX mini course which summarizes the top five things I've learned in my 20 years designing and developing UI/UX. It's totally free ;) https://the-ux-mini-course.com

I'd love to chat more, so please feel free to send me an email (caleb.peterson@cubicle6.com). I absolutely love shipping great UI/UX and helping my fellow Indie Hackers do the same!

    All the best!

Ok, I installed the extension and gave it a spin. Definitely a handy extension and the UX/behavior seems good.

If you're looking for a re-work of the UI/design, I'm interested. You can check out my portfolio (https://cubicle6.com) to see some of the UI/UX work I've done.

Btw - I took your mini-UX course. Super useful!
I'll ping you separately about some re-work of my pages/extension

Tremendous! Thank you so much for the feedback and taking it for a spin.
I realized that some of the screenshots I have up are old, so I'll update those.
I took in some of your suggestions and have updated (got rid of more of the purple and went for a cleaner look).
      Thanks!
