Looking to join a project or start one

Hello all!

My name is Dan, I’m based out of NYC, and currently work at Disney Streaming Services (ESPN+) as a Senior Analyst implementing ML models, doing statistical analysis, and creating reports. More specifically, I work on generating the forecast for the UFC PPV sales and help with lifecycle marketing efforts using unsupervised learning. I have worked across a wide variety of domains including healthcare, fashion, and finance.

Usually, I work with Python/Spark + SQL, and have done a lot of web scraping. I’m far from a software engineer but hacking things together is a strength.

I understand the sports/entertainment space pretty well, but am open to jumping into any area.

Looking to connect with people to brainstorm ideas to try and build something out, or open to join someone else’s project given I would be a good fit and can help!

Feel free to reach out!

Contact me via email (address in my profile) and let's see if we can chat. Thanks -Jon

Awesome background Dan and cool that you work on UFC

I just posted here about tools for salespeople https://www.indiehackers.com/post/tools-for-sales-reps-sdrs-7f629bda1e - there's tons of scope to apply your skills to the sales space

Hi Dan. I'm currently a data scientist/analyst at a mobile gaming company, who develop web apps in my free time. As a data analytics professional, I wanted build an application, where sports fans can view various team statistics so they can make informed bets given a match.

Some things that we can feature to the users:

    • general game win %
    • home-game/away-game specific win %
    • win % in previous n games
    • win % since YYYYMMDD
    • win % against a specific team
    • ELO rating
    • ML-generated prediction on game outcome (reported along ML's historical prediction performance)
    • etc.

Based on this information, players may be able to bet on their teams more informed.

What do you think about the idea?

Hi Dan! I might have a project you are interested in. I'm building a product to help people organize their photos automatically. We have a lot of ideas on how ML could help. I'm also in New York and have done a bit of ice climbing. If you have a few moments, I'd love to tell you more about it. Maybe DM me on Twitter? @seantconrad

    Hey Dan,

I'm currently working on a Project Management tool that leverages Gantt Charts to help managers be more aware of project timelines. Still very early stages and would love to talk more about this idea with potential partners! Do you have a twitter handle?
