Looking to partner up/invest in a side project

My name is Zach and I'm a Kansas City-based entrepreneur and investor. I've been building businesses for 10 years, looking to invest in my next project!

My skill sets include business planning, development, marketing with experience in customer acquisition as well as team management skills like leadership training.

I am eager to find a fellow entrepreneur(s) who I can come alongside and work with to grow a financially successful company. I am open to ideas and can usually get excited about any business as long as I understand the mission and goals for the company.

Look forward to hearing from some of you and how we can collaborate.

What have you done as a business coach? Like how does it work in your experience? 1 hour a week call? sessions? planning? counseling?

    1. 1

      Hey Andrew,

In my experience I have primarily done 1-to-1 coaching with a business owner. We work on developing long-term and short term goals and strategies. Those sessions are one hour a week. There is work assigned to the business owner outside of coaching so it's certainly a process. My ultimate goal is to help the business owner create a successful profitable enterprise that works without them.

I have also conducted group coaching before which is fun to bring multiple business owners together.

I'm interested in learning more about your Better Sheets project. I'm gonna take a look :).

Hi, I am looking for help with https://fragmentsup.io/, mostly the "unique value proposition" part. It lets users run code with an API endpoint in the cloud. Same as vercel/netlify/cloudflare workers, but much easier to use and get started with.

A user asked "how do I connect to a database". And this tripped me up. I assumed someone who is deploying code would have the tech knowledge to just write some code and connect to any db they want.

I could also create a bunch of starter templates (like from the landing page) that users can run right away. But this wouldn't give the project a unique identity.

My best idea so far is to create integrations with other platforms like Stripe/Slack/SalesForce/AWS/etc... and have the project be an event broker capturing events from AWS, and sending them to Slack for example.

Hi Zach, I am working on Recall (https://www.recall.wiki/) which is a note-taking tool focused on your personal interests. I am looking for some help on the business side of things. (I am based in Amsterdam).

    Hey Zach:
I built a service called Retrospect.team (https://www.retrospect.team) and have over 8300 registered users, but I'm kind of stuck on what to do with it. Traffic, registrations, etc. continue to decline.

With that said, I have done very little lately to promote it, haven't released any new features in a long time, so it makes sense that's slipping.

I'm looking for a fresh, outside perspective on how to make this service successful.

Let me know if you'd like to chat, feel free to DM me on Twitter.

    Cheers!

Hey Micah! Thanks for reaching out. I will take a look at the site and register for an account. I would love to try the product out and see how it works.

Hi Zach, I know this message hardly convinces you, but I'll try anyway.

I say that it is difficult, because we are a startup from South America, with a team in Argentina and an LLC in the USA.

Our mission is to collaborate in the development of a better Internet. That's why we joined WordPress, the market leader democratizing website publishing and whose platform has been chosen by more than 42% of all websites in the world.

Understanding that purpose, GorillaCMS solves common WordPress problems:

    • The loading speed of the websites.
    • The security of the entire infrastructure and installation.
    • Flexibility in the frontend for programmers.

Our SaaS product takes care of implementing a Headless WordPress installation out of the box. In this way we achieve that:

    1. Websites run 10x faster thanks to the fact that the frontend is decoupled from the backend and all communication is through our API.
    2. Security is guaranteed on our infrastructure, constant maintenance and daily backups.
    3. Frontend programmers feel the freedom to choose modern programming languages to create the product they want, while consuming the functionality of the WordPress backend through our API.

Our vision towards product development allows us to think about the limitlessness of the application of the headless concept in the future.

Every product, be it a website, native application, IoT device, communication channel, software, or whatever, is always going to need a backend and a frontend. WordPress works excellent as a backend to create content. And GorillaCMS is the ideal way to distribute that content generated through our API.

Content is King, Distribution is Queen.

The future is Headless, because the future is dynamic and full of omnichannel challenges.

What do we need? Exactly what you offer. We are willing to conquer the Latin American market and we need someone to lead the market in the USA.

Our clients are companies looking for omnichannel distribution of their content and the freedom to build modern frontends using WordPress as a backend.

We have an income model based on SaaS type use where we charge according to the API calls made by the client.

PROS: we are a great team, creative and with a lot of enthusiasm. We have been around for a year validating problems, generating strategies and starting very interesting business processes.

NEGATIVE: our communication in English is not fluent and at the moment we can communicate asynchronously.

Any kind of help / comment I will appreciate anyway.

    Greetings!

    Hi Zach, welcome to IH!

    I’m looking for a partner/co-founder for https://statustracker.app/

I built and launched it this year. I enjoy the technical side but haven’t gotten into the marketing and customer acquisition really. I’m hoping to find someone who I can partner with to bring Status Tracker to success.

I’ve been building it in public and have created a product page here on IH with some more details about the project.

If you’re interested in chatting you can DM me on Twitter (link in bio) or email me at hello@statustracker.app

This is interesting, Joel. I will take a look at the product page and site. You'll get an email from me.

    I'll give it a shot :D
I'm backend and iOS developer. I'm building a regular chat, but it appends a positive smiley face at the end of each message. It makes it joyful, happy and supportive. All negative smiley faces are filtered out. 😇

    Name?
    positivechat :) or FeelGoodChat :)

    Why?
It's not easy to stay positive nowadays, not only because of covid but also hate speech online, on social networks, private problems etc. Internet is becoming toxic and hateful place. I'm a positive person, I'm always trying to be positive, find the light at the end of the tunnel, trying to be respectful toward people, communicate positively, be supportive and nice.

On top of that it would be good to add gifs aswell, so you can communicate with gifs also. There are no words, only joyful moving pictures so people can express themselves with positivity

    Hey Zach,
Good stuff, and all the best

I have bootstrapped and built JustAnotherresource.com.
Its a social content curation platform where users can

    1. View recommendations from like minded users
    2. Save content that interests them
    3. Recommend content they love to others

Content recommendation is something we all do informally, on chats and social media. Jar is a place built for it.

Built a small community of content seekers on Whatsapp, looking to onboard quality curators, to get the cycle started
Hit me up if you find this interesting
