Looking to partner with a creative hacker for a kickass tool for teachers. Let's rock education!
I am working on an app in the education space.
Basically with a bunch of teachers around the world, teaching from home, remotely, there are not enough tools to make for an engaging lesson.
Presentations are pehaps the best there is for teachers right now and I want to change that.
The problem:
- Editing videos are a pain.
- Getting creative commons images, videos, music are not easy for a teacher.
- Visually interesting things cannot be done without animation skills which not every teacher has.
- Not enough tools are marketed towards teachers.
The closest in terms of a solution I see is something like Kapwing (https://www.kapwing.com/) but that doesn't have enough educational insights and is not tailored towards teachers.
With this Covid crisis, I really want to build tools which have the highest impact in society. It's like a wake up call to push the boundaries in areas that matter, not in pushing ads.
I have some solutions in my head and some basic prototypes. I use MithrilJS as the main client framework and Python on the backend. Open to other ideas.
Looking for a partner who would match my values in this regard and is a certain type so there would be a quasi interview. If this thing works and we get traction we can definitely talk about company ownership etc. Right now I am mostly looking for a creative hacking partner.

This sounds interesting. Do you have any prototype designed out? I actually helped build and then teach the product management and strategy course at General Assembly so have teaching experience.
I also am the recent former Head of Product & Digital Experience at Equinox so quite a bit of experience getting things done, validated, positioned and taken to market.
I'm also pretty adept at hacking things together (Squarespace, Figma, Protopie etc) so can get pretty no / low code to validate ideas.

Hum. Sounds like you should create a marketplace that brings graphic designers, video editors, and teachers together...
Charge the teachers like.. 20 to 30 a month for unlimited content access... then pay the graphic designers and video editors based on their most utilized digital products...
Also maybe having a feature that allows teachers to define a wanted "digital" product in detail... and then graphic designers and video editors.. can watch the upvotes... then commit to creating content for that idea.
As for myself, I would love to help but have quite a bit of work on my plate atm.
