Hello,
Do you think i could make a low-cost product for image compression for website owners that have large uncompressed images?
One of my websites had about 10,000 images and google page speed was really low. I looked tat wordpress plugins but they were very expensive or slowed down my website. I then created a program that would send the file to another server, compress, then send it back at a slow pace. I'm thinking if I can turn it into a product or not.
Can see a room for a product like this if you can make image compression more dynamic and fast. You might want to consider Gifs and videos compression as well. @jazz12
There are lots of plugins and API's that do this already. resmush, tinypng, shortpixel etc. I think this market is already saturated an the existing players are very good.

Thanks. I need to check these. You’re right, I hadn’t seen all these others. Hmm, perhaps bubble burst!
Seems lik a cool idea. Question: Would you have an API, or would it be something that the website owner will install on their server?
Thanks for the feedback. In my current solution, I ftp the files out to another server, run the compression in bulk (or file by file), keep a backup and the ftp it back with a report on percentage compressed

Thanks anakravitz for the feedback, that's really helpful. yeah, the tools out there require a bit of work to setup. Helps to motivate me to look deeper! Could I trouble you to take 2 mins to do a quick survey? http://bit.ly/2Tv6w3F
