Just a few of the times I've gotten lucky with Indie Hackers:

@levelsio sharing his story. Without a couple of comments he left on Hacker News, I never would've thought of Indie Hackers.
Timing. If I'd had the idea earlier it might never have gained steam. Later and someone might've done it before me. The window of time wasn't that large.
Getting on @julian's radar. He called me up out of the blue and gave me some great tips for growth. Made a new friend, too.
Going on @JeffMeyerson's podcast. He gave me the nudge I needed to start a podcast of my own, as well as tips for monetizing. We're also still friends today.
Getting acquired by Stripe. I did nothing purposeful to make that happen.
