Machine Shop ERP knows what a tool crib is. Its homepage sounds like the NetSuite that burned them.

Every day we run one project building in public through Hivemind, the strategy engine Myosin uses with clients.

Today: Machine Shop ERP by Texono (texono.com/machine-shop-erp), an ERP built specifically for machine shops and CNC manufacturers.

Start with the good news, because it is the whole story. This product actually knows what a tool crib is. It has CNC setup sheets and a tooling database, the exact things a real machine shop runs on and that a horizontal ERP like SAP or NetSuite has never heard of. It has been doing this since 2015. The product is machine-shop-native. The page is not.

Here is the tension. Your product is the ERP built for the shop floor. Your page sounds like every ERP that already failed them. A fifteen-person shop owner has tried an "all-in-one manufacturing ERP solution" before. It was NetSuite, it cost him a small fortune in consulting, it did not know what a tool crib was, and he went back to his spreadsheet. Your subheadline uses the exact words that reopen that scar: "all in one," "streamline," "single platform." The language, not the product, is the blocker.

The lens is built-for-you, not built-for-everyone. Three moves, aimed at demo requests from shop owners.

Move 1: Rewrite the hero with the line you already wrote and then hid. Your homepage H1 is literally "Manufacturing Machine Shops," which is a category tag for Google, not a headline for a human. Your Indie Hackers bio has the real one: "machine shops deserve better than spreadsheets and paper." That owns the enemy and names the buyer in eight words. Make it the H1, then follow it with the specific pain: you run tool cribs, setup sheets and quote revisions on a whiteboard and a prayer, and this is the ERP that already knows that. This week: swap the hero, and cut "all-in-one solution" everywhere.

Move 2: Kill eleven of the twelve modules. Lead with the two nobody else can match. Inventory, HR and quoting are table stakes that every ERP claims. CNC Setup Sheets and the Tool Crib are the only things SAP, NetSuite and JobBOSS cannot do without heavy custom work, and they are your entire reason to exist. Show them in detail: a real setup sheet in Texono next to the Excel version it replaces. Let the other ten sit below the fold as a checklist. This week: build one screenshot-driven section around the setup sheet.

Move 3: Replace the single logo with proof shaped like the buyer's own before. One named client and no testimonials is a trust vacuum on a product that asks a shop to rip out how it already works. You need three short quotes in one pattern: what they used before, what broke, what changed. "We tracked 47 setups on a whiteboard. Now it is three clicks, and we quoted 30% faster in month one." That converts in vertical B2B because it mirrors the reader's own situation. This week: email your named client CAMCO for three sentences, then pull two more from recent deals.

One more thing that is quietly costing you demos: there is no price anywhere. For a shop owner, no number reads as "enterprise, call us, not for me," and that reaction survives even a perfect headline. Even a starting range turns a browser into a lead.

To the Texono team: you built the ERP that speaks machine shop. Stop describing it in the language of the one that does not.

This might be the most useful comment this post could have gotten, just not the way you intended. A teardown about talking to one specific buyer just received a bulk-sugar pitch written for absolutely everyone, dropped onto a machine-shop software thread. That is the whole lesson made real: if your message can land on a completely unrelated post without changing a single word, it was built for no one.

Since you offered a sweet deal, here is a free one back. "Sugar for distributors, wholesalers, food manufacturers, and industrial buyers" is four buyers with four different fears. The food manufacturer cares about ICUMSA consistency and clean documentation. The distributor cares about lead time and price stability. Pick one, lead with the single number that buyer loses sleep over, and the exact same message stops reading as spam and starts reading as relevant.

That is the same note we just gave a CNC shop. Works on sugar too.
