Made $1150 + a $4000 MRR before the launch

Been editing videos since 5 years. Have created more than 200+ videos for enterprise, real estate, softwares and B2B companies.

A month ago, I was watching a video on youtube about a guy who productized his design services and working all by himself.

Productizing a service in which you are good is a fantastic idea I thought.

I went on Linkedin and reached 10 people, having growth marketing as their job titles.

Fortunately, one replied saying they are looking for short ~1 min product videos for marketing. I replied back about the business model with my pricing.

They wanted to test with one single video and then go on for a subscription if they like it.

That one single video costed them $1150 and the video was a great hit. They liked the quality and the output.

$4000 USD MRR.

With this good news! I am scaling up my business as I am sure there are many startup SaaS companies who need a similar product videos.

Get motion ad videos regularly for a flat monthly fee. I know there are many doing it already so this is not a genie idea.

I am calling it Pexmotion.

That is a new trajectory people are taking to have a monthly retainer which is quite sustainable. I also saw other got featured on My first million podcast, cant remember the name. [Edit] I've just remembered, its called Design Joy

I totally agree @katemiller!! I personally feel this works for someone who is in the same business for a long time. Many are productizing their micro services. There are communities built around it which is awesome. Its great to see everyone supporting each other.

Great job. Do you remember what your original outreach messaged looked like?

Was it as simple as, "Hey I see you're an X, I'm offering this service for people exactly like you. Got X and Y experience, interested?"

    1. 1

Hey thANKS ! Yeah so I wrote them linking to my previous work

  3. 2

Awesome. Can you share an example of a motion video you created?

  4. 2

    Cool business model.

Can I ask what a motion video ad is?

pexmotion.io is live now. Please check out the portfolio section to check the kind of videos we do.

  5. 2

Nice! How did you come up witht the price?

    1. 1

Thanks @aaddrriiaann. The pricing is for unlimited videos and unlimited revisions.

      1. 1

While it is a good deal for the buyer, how is this sustainable for you? Will you have fair limits to ensure some level of equal time and service for all your clients?

        1. 2

@halcyon I am keeping a limit on the number of clients per month.

      2. 1

Wow that can be a really good deal for some companies!

        1. 1

Yes it is! Usually the companies ask for ~1 minute videos for marketing which is a great deal for both Pexmotion and the company.

  6. 1

Good job will love to hear more from you.

    • How do you acquire clients?
    • What are the marketing options?

Indeed, AI has made significant advancements in generating code and assisting developers in various programming tasks. These advancements are primarily attributed to techniques like natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning, which enable AI models to understand programming languages and generate code based on the input provided.

Some ways AI can help generate code include:

Code Autocompletion: Modern code editors, like Visual Studio Code, often use AI-powered autocompletion to suggest code snippets, function names, and variable names as you type. These suggestions are based on the context of your code and the libraries you're using.

Code Generation from Natural Language: AI models can understand natural language descriptions of a desired program behavior and generate corresponding code. This can be especially helpful for quickly prototyping or translating ideas into code.

Code Refactoring: AI tools can identify parts of your code that could be improved for better performance, readability, or adherence to best practices, and even suggest code refactoring options.

Template and Framework Generation: AI can assist in generating boilerplate code for common tasks, such as setting up a web application, creating database connections, or configuring API calls.

Bug Detection and Correction: Some AI tools can help identify potential bugs or vulnerabilities in your code and offer suggestions for fixing them.

Code Translation: AI models can aid in translating code between programming languages, making it easier to port software from one language to another.

Code Summarization: AI can generate human-readable summaries of code, making it easier to understand what a particular piece of code does without going through all the details.

Test Case Generation: AI can automatically generate test cases based on your code, helping to improve test coverage and identify potential issues.

It's important to note that while AI can significantly assist developers in these tasks, it's not a replacement for human developers. AI-generated code may lack creativity, nuanced understanding of complex requirements, and ethical considerations. Moreover, rigorous testing and code review are necessary to ensure the generated code functions correctly and securely.

As of my last update in September 2021, AI in coding was still evolving rapidly. It's likely that there have been further developments and innovations in this field since then.

Thank you @SrSmileBR. Im planning to launch on Product hunt soon.

  13. 1

You did a great job, congratulations!

  14. 1

Congrats on the first success. I am still thinking if companies really need a recurring service for a product video. What's the deal?

    1. 1

@strzibnyj good thought ! Yes few of the companies might look into having couple of them but few need them on a regular basis.

  15. 1

Congrats! Good way to minimize risk.

  16. 1

Hey @thisischetan, is the website for your product/service Pexmotion done? If not I believe I can help create a high-converting website with great design. Do you want to collaborate?

Thank you @pasta_nick and congratulations to you as well. Good luck with that!

  18. 1

Great job, and good luck on the launch! 🚀

  19. 1

Are you planning to build a SaaS that can automatically create the videos? Like an AI tool? Or just productize your skills at editing videos yourself?

    1. 1

I would love to build an AI Tool but as of now productizing the earned skills.

  20. 1

Congrats on the test and good luck on the launch!
