Made $2,000 first night of sale with our NFT Project!
Hello everyone, we sold our first pumpkins on the Blockchain! Nothing like the feeling as a founder when strangers give you money for your product. On September 30th, we had our first presale bringing in around $2000.
We achieved this by building a small but growing discord channel, and we also used Twitter to spread the word a little.
We are actually in the profit for this project already if you exclude our time. The only cost we have so far in the project is just the smart contract on Ethereum, which costs about $1200 to deploy.
A little about the project, it's entitled CryptoPumpkins, and it is an NFT project that allows you to carve your very own pumpkin NFT. You can learn more and even try out the carving engine yourself if you are on a tablet or larger size screen at https://www.cryptopumpkins.com.

Pardon my ignorance, but what's the point of the project? Why should I get a pumpkin?
To blow money;) Nah just kidding the value is though perceived in the eyes of the holders. It's a collectible item and there will only be 5,923 to ever exist on the blockchain. It would be the same as something similar to why you would want to collect a baseball card. Hope this helps, there are quite a few articles on google about why NFTs are worth money if you want something really in-depth.
Interesting. Will be fun to see where this is going. I personally have an idea for a collection that I want to make. And the goal would be to make a mill and donate 100% of it.
I just haven't the chance and time to put it all together yet. But I think your concept is rather interesting, as people are able to create their own customized one. Now, the only thing with it being pumpkins, is that after halloween, it might be a hard thing to push. But who knows. Best of luck.

Yeah the good thing is pumpkins last all fall so there is actually a few months for them and fall comes around every year. The other thing is that the pumpkins will be able to be re-carved each year:) You are right though it will be more difficult. Thanks for the comment.

Pretty interesting, what marketplace did you use to sell the items?
The minting happens on www.cryptopumpkins.com however secondary sales will happen on opensea
I still learn about all that NFT world, and I'm really impressed on how this finds investors/buyers. There must be a strong demand for possessing digital assets in the society.
How long did it take for your team to build it?
We started working on the art and website back in early August. We launched the site, discord, and presale signup in early September. We were able to get about 100 discord members and around 80 presale signups before the first presale which happened Sept 30th. Sold around 20 pumpkins at that presale. There is a very strong demand for NFTs in certain circles but it has potential to become much larger.
Great project, definitely innovative to custom our own NFT's ! How did you grow your discord before launch ?
Thank you! Just organically reaching out to people mainly asking for feedback about the project and a few got involved and then brought their friends. It is really hard to grow the discord though and keep it going. We are working on another NFT that supplements this one and will be free to mint to pumpkin holders. With this other NFT we will release; I hope will be able to grow the discord 100x. Keep an eye out for it I will try to post it on here once I announce it:)
