I recently received $2.55 in commissions from Amazon Associate links from mydesktour.com! It's just a dumb little site where you can upload and browse other people's desk setups.
It's the first few bucks I've made from a project!

Try to create an info product. Instead of monetizing purchases, perhaps you can monetize purchase intent. Create a list of the top 100 items. sell it for a buck on digitalstockingstuffers.com
