Made a few sales, now what?
In the span of a week, I built a landing page and store for a new product called Blog Books (https://blogsurf.io/books/). It's a new book format where you get the books delivered to your inbox on a custom schedule.
It didn't do particularly well on PH, and got absolutely nowhere on HN, but I still managed to make 4 sales.
The plan is to get feedback from these initial 4 as they use the product, and use that feedback to fix any major flaws, and add any important missing features, before putting some effort into growth.
The main thing I'm wondering is whether 4 customers is enough of a sample size to gather feedback from, or whether I should try to get more initial sales right now.
Any thoughts on this?
This looks like an excellent idea, but to get traction you might need to reach out to people in book clubs and book discussion groups on FB and Reddit. I doubt people on HN or PH are an ideal audience for this product.
Also, have you considered getting self-published creators from sites like Gumroad to put their books on blog surf? I think those creators will help get their audience on the site.

Yeah book clubs / discussion groups are definitely a good group to target. Maybe also worth finding ways to partner with people who write book summaries. I did think there would be a good chunk of people on PH/HN who want to read books in this way but I might have been wrong about that.
I have gotten a few self published authors on it, though I'm not sure if that's going to help me get any more traction since it's not like they're advertising my site.

In this case it was mostly just one off situations where I emailed someone and they bought it, or I posted in reddit and someone bought it from there. Haven't had any high traffic situations so not sure what the conversion rate of the site would be.
