Happy new year indie hackers!

"Get Lost in Your Own Personalized AI-Powered Stories"

I'm excited to share my latest project, Maigic Book, with you.

As a solopreneur, I always have new ideas swirling around in my head, but I only embark on a project if it's a super mega idea that I really want to use myself and can be completed relatively quickly given my current skills. Maigic Book falls into that category - I had the idea to create this app during my Christmas break and I'm thrilled with how it turned out. It's my first full SwiftUI project and I'm excited to launch it this week.

Maigic Book is all about making it easy and enjoyable to read tales to yourself, your kids, or just for curiosity's sake. AI offers so much power and it's used in a user-friendly way to provide the best possible experience for our users without requiring high-level technical knowledge. Plus, the app generates amazing depictions of the stories that really help you immerse yourself in them.

I would love to get your feedback on the app - whether it's a wanted feature or something that could be improved. As part of the indie hacker ecosystem, I value the insights and perspectives of my peers. Thank you for considering Maigic Book and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

If you have a minute, please give some love to its just launched product hunt page, thank you! πŸ™Œ

    Supported on PH!

Curious what you're using to generate illustrations.

I usually use stable diffusion, and currently developing a stable diffusion API at Evoke perfect for this task, with more models and AIs coming in the future.

Good idea on the app. I just thought of the readability of the story and will you monetize the app?

Story creation is based on credits. You start with some free credits to create a few stories and if you'd like to create more, you can purchase credits to keep them coming (or continuing existing stories).

It's very similar to existing "Generative art" apps where they use credits to generate new art pieces.

        Sounds wonderful!

I can't wait for the Android release in January to try it out.

Have you considered a mixed approach of writter + AI? Maybe an author creates some parts of the story, (e.g. one paragraph each few pages, incmplete stories, or the main plot) and AI compleates this with the personalizations selected by the user? This gives the authenticity, scarceness and recognition of the author to the book.
