MadeOnSol - Start of month 3.

MadeOnSol Month 2 Recap: $0 to $98 MRR, 2,219 indexed pages, 1,900 AI citations — entering Month 3

Hey everyone, wanted to share a transparent update on MadeOnSol — a Solana ecosystem intelligence platform I've been building solo. Just wrapped month 2 and entering month 3 now.

The short version: I went from idea to first paying customers spending nothing on marketing. Here's everything that happened.

What MadeOnSol does

I track 1,000+ crypto KOL (Key Opinion Leader) wallets on Solana in real-time. Every buy, every sell, detected in under 3 seconds across 9 DEX programs. I also score 6,700+ Pump.fun token deployers by their historical success rate, so traders can check if a token creator is legit before buying.

The website has free tools anyone can use — KOL leaderboards, deployer lookup, a directory of 1,000+ Solana tools. The API lets developers plug this data into their own trading bots, alert systems, and dashboards.

Revenue

$98 MRR from 2 Pro subscribers at $49/month each. Both paying in USDC on Solana — no Stripe, no credit cards. First payment came about halfway through month 2. Second followed a few days later.

I also have a free tier (200 requests/day) with 21 registered users and over 1,100 API requests so far. The most-used endpoints are the KOL trade feed (40%) and PnL leaderboard (32%).

Traffic & SEO

947 unique visitors last month. 7,890 page views. Average visit duration is 5 minutes 48 seconds — people are actually using the tools, not just bouncing.

Traffic sources: Google (38%), X/Twitter (25%), Bing (17%), Reddit (8%), Perplexity AI (4%), DuckDuckGo and Yandex making appearances too.

The SEO story is wild. Google indexed 9 pages when I started. Today: 2,219 pages indexed out of a 3,800+ page sitemap. Programmatic pages (tool listings, comparisons, alternatives, best-of pages) are getting indexed fast now that domain authority is building.

Backlink profile: DR 3.2 on Ahrefs, 32 referring domains, 45 backlinks (56% dofollow). Built entirely through directory submissions, dev.to posts, a viral Reddit post on r/Supabase (35K views), and honest content.

AI search is real

This is the part that surprised me most. Bing's AI has cited MadeOnSol 1,900+ times across 12 different pages. Perplexity AI is sending actual click-through traffic. I didn't optimize for AI at all — I just wrote detailed, honest content about Solana tools and the AI search engines picked it up as a reliable source.

I think this is an underrated growth channel for indie hackers. If you're building content that's genuinely the best source on a topic, AI will find you and cite you automatically.

Infrastructure

Started on a €15/month Hetzner VPS (4 vCPU, 8GB RAM). Quickly outgrew it as I needed more storage for trade data. This week I migrated to a dedicated Hetzner server:

- Intel Xeon E-2176G (6 cores / 12 threads)

- 64GB ECC RAM

- 2x 960GB NVMe in RAID1 for the database

- 2x 1.92TB SATA SSD in RAID1 for backups

- About €100/month total

The whole stack is self-hosted: Next.js, Supabase (PostgreSQL + Auth), Nginx, Docker, dual gRPC streams for real-time Solana data. Total infra cost including RPC providers is about €132/month. With 2 Pro subscribers I'm almost at break-even.

What's working

1. Free tools drive signups. The KOL tracker and deployer lookup are free on the website. People use them, realize the data is valuable, then want the API or alerts.

2. Build in public on X gets engagement. Technical posts about gRPC streams, database optimization, and infrastructure get developers interested.

3. SEO compounds. Month 1 was slow but indexing accelerated dramatically in month 2. Expect month 3 to bring significantly more organic traffic.

4. AI citations are free distribution. Nearly 2,000 times an AI told someone about MadeOnSol. Can't buy that.

5. USDC payments remove friction for crypto users. No KYC, no credit card forms. Wallet connect and pay.

What's next for month 3

- New API endpoints: per-wallet PnL breakdown, trending tokens feed, KOL convergence signals

- Website subscription tiers for non-developers (smart money dashboard, token scanner)

- Extended data retention — keeping months of history instead of 31 days now that storage isn't a constraint

- KOL watchlists and email alerts to drive more signups

- First 20 buyer analysis on every Pump.fun launch — identifying winning wallets automatically

- Continue backlink building toward DR 5+
