Main differences between Google Play and AppStore indexation processes and algorithms work

What I want to discuss in this article is the difference between the Google Play and AppStore algorithms for keyword promotion. As you know Google Play and Appstore work with keyword promotion differently.

The Google Play algorithm usually works whithin a week or up to 10 days, moreover the amount of installs for the keyword should be increasing every day and the first visible results are available after a week the installs are completed.

In the App Store on the other hand, we can post for 2-3 days to get that position and there is no need to increase the number of posts every day. We may only do so when we see the keyword positions in the top 10 and we want to get the higher one. The most important factor for the AppStore algorithm is how many installs the app received for the keyword, so the higher number the higher rank.

As for the indexation features, the length of title for Google Play as well as for AppStore should not exceed 30 symbols, the second field to be indexed on Google Play is short description, for the App Store this is the subtitle. The description consists of approximately 80 symbols and should include a short detailed explanation of your app, the subtitle itself may be 30 symbols maximum.

One important factor to remember concidering reviews on Google Play. When checking the reviews the Google Play is mainly focusing on keywords f the product. However, AppStore does not check for keywords in app reviews during the indexation process.

Another area in the AppStore is the in-app purchases. The best way to optimize your search results is to use keywords in your title, which shoul include only 30 characters and a description of 45 characters.

So now I hope it is easier for any app developer to understand how to optimize the app and what to expect when promoting the app with keywords.
