Make creating and sharing a habit

The number one rule in creating and sharing is to expect nothing in return.

I've found this rule to be powerful for your perspective and morale. When you share something, often you are sharing a part of yourself. This requires you to be vulnerable and no one likes being vulnerable.

We all hope to press send and be praised right away. I've found that the best medicine to win on the internet is to be consistent with writing, recording video, open sourcing projects, Tweeting, etc. Then to assess your work against what works and overtime refine it.

It would be foolish to share something over and over expecting a different result, insane actually by definition. That doesn't mean your first piece of content or even first 50 pieces need to win an award. Spit it out there and gracefully refine over time.

Work towards refining your thoughts so you think more clearly in relatable terms, work towards spicing up your content with better vocabulary, improve the quality of your videos over time. Eventually you will catch some momentum and your content will be an asset.

Be patient, be persistent, and keep learning. Your content is going to suck and hear crickets until you find your voice and audience.

One of the easiest ways to manage putting content out there is to post and forget. Quit waiting for likes and validation. Make it a habit to post and ghost.
