Make Every App Climate-Positive with a Single API Call 🌱

What if adding real environmental impact to your product was as easy as adding Stripe?

That’s the idea behind 1ClickImpact.com. We built a sustainability API that lets any developer, founder, or indie hacker instantly:

  • Plant trees for every sign-up or order
  • Capture carbon directly from the air
  • Fund ocean-plastic cleanup
  • Donate to verified causes worldwide

No big partnerships or paperwork - just a few lines of code.

Why it matters

Consumers increasingly choose products that prioritize sustainability. Integrating a sustainability API helps you stand out, increase customer loyalty, and meet ESG goals.
Imagine your Shopify store planting a tree for every purchase with our Shopify App or your SaaS automatically offsetting server emissions with our carbon offset API. It’s a differentiator that also helps the planet.

How it works

  1. Pick your impact (trees, carbon, plastic cleanup, donations)
  2. Call our API from any language
  3. Track results in a live dashboard - your users can even see each step and even join live virtual planting sessions.

We already support high-traffic sites making thousands of calls per day, and there’s a free tier so you can experiment today.

mana, this looks super cool. I’ll definitely try the free plan, love the idea and the initiative 🌱

clean execution too. curious to see how far this goes!

    1. 2

pd: the documentation is unbelievable. did you launch everything solo?

      1. 1

Excited to have you try the free plan, feedback from means a lot!

Yes, I built and launched everything myself so far (product, docs, and site). It’s been a fun challenge, and hearing that the documentation stands out makes the long nights worth it.

If you have any thoughts while testing or want to brainstorm ways to integrate it, feel free to reach out or book a quick demo: https://1clickimpact.com/contact

"This is a really interesting approach to tackling climate impact at scale. I appreciate the focus on ease of integration. Are there specific types of apps you're seeing the most traction with so far? Great work!"

    1. 1

Thanks so much for the feedback! Here are a few examples of where we’re seeing traction right now:

      • Shopify stores using our app so customers can make an impact right at checkout—tree planting and ocean cleanup have been especially popular.
      • Zapier automations that plant a tree for every email sent, and local businesses connecting it to their Google Reviews so a tree is planted for each new review.
      • AI and compute-heavy projects using our carbon capture API (https://docs.1clickimpact.com/capture-carbon) to offset emissions based on the computation used.

It’s exciting to watch how different products are weaving climate action into everyday workflows, and we’re always looking for more creative use cases.

Really like this concept — making climate action as simple as an API call is a smart way to get developers on board. I think tools like this work best when paired with other utility-based online platforms. For example, I run a free Japanese/English math tools site. I can totally imagine adding something like 1ClickImpact into it — so every calculation could also contribute to tree planting or carbon offsets. Small things like this make the internet more impactful without users even thinking about it.

Thanks so much for the kind words and for sharing how you’d use it - that sounds like an awesome fit! We’re happy to have you on board.

Fantastic idea! out of curiosity, how does one know that for instance a tree was actually planted? Not trying to be critical here but as we know there is so much greenwashing going on

  5. 1

Love this concept — making climate action a default feature instead of an afterthought is huge.
Curious which integrations (Shopify, SaaS platforms, etc.) you’ve seen create the biggest immediate impact so far?

  6. 1

That's smart! It makes it super accessible to raise funds for a good cause. I'm still unsure if triggering more server calls is good for the planet, but at least you guys are building something that tries to go in the right direction

Love this concept! Making environmental impact accessible through a simple API is brilliant. As someone who's integrated multiple APIs into my loyalty card app (55k+ downloads), I can appreciate the importance of developer-friendly implementation.

A few thoughts from the trenches:

API Design: The single API call approach is spot-on. When I was building my loyalty card app, the APIs that won were the ones with the clearest documentation and simplest integration. Stripe's success proves this model works.

Use Case Potential: This could be huge for consumer-facing apps. My loyalty card app users are already environmentally conscious (choosing digital over physical cards), so adding tree planting for milestones like "100 cards stored" would resonate strongly. The feel-good factor drives retention.

Pricing Strategy Question: How are you handling the cost structure? With loyalty apps, small margins matter. Are you offering volume discounts or partnering with API aggregators? The sustainability angle could justify premium pricing, but adoption happens when the barrier is low.

Marketing Angle: The "as easy as Stripe" comparison is perfect positioning. Developers immediately understand the value prop. You might consider building showcase examples - like a demo e-commerce site where users see the impact counter in real-time.

One suggestion: Consider webhook support for impact notifications. Users love sharing their positive impact on social media, and real-time notifications could drive viral growth for your API customers.

This fills a real gap in the developer ecosystem. Environmental responsibility shouldn't require complex partnerships. Well executed!

Thanks so much for the detailed feedback and for sharing your experience, that perspective is incredibly valuable!

Love the idea of celebrating milestones like “100 cards stored.” That’s exactly the kind of small, feel-good interaction we’re aiming to power.

On pricing: we start with a free tier so developers can experiment without risk, and we offer volume discounts as usage grows. We keep margins very lean (around 5-10%) just enough to cover payment processing and operational costs. For example, you can plant a tree starting at $0.50 and it drops to about $0.35 per tree as volume increases.

Webhook support for real-time impact notifications is also on our roadmap. We agree it’s a great way for users to share their contributions and drive viral growth.

Happy to chat more or walk through specific loyalty-app scenarios anytime. You can always reach out or book a demo: https://1clickimpact.com/contact

I understand you have a dashboard and live virtual planting sessions, but do you track long-term effectiveness, like tree survival or carbon capture validation?

  9. 1

What a great idea! Like it, even though I have no product to implement it I hope business owners will adopt it
