If you have a knack for writing songs and lyrics then you can turn your skills into an income stream easily. There are a number of online platforms and websites where you can sell your lyrics. You can also offer freelance songwriting services where you can get paid on hourly basis.
This will only work if you're really good at songwriting. Your work has to be compelling and should be able to grip the listeners. If you are that creative then you can earn as much as $100 per hour for your skills.

  • Twine: Twine is a popular freelance platforms for creative music artists. They also have a separate category for songwriters. You can advertise your services for free and reach out to a global audience. They offer hourly and day rate projects.
  • Nashville Song Writers: NSAI is a non-profit organization based in Tennessee. They help talented songwriters with their skills and enable them to copyright their songs and lyrics and earn multiple royalties from their work. They also offer training and certifications to further enhance your skills and help you become professional songwriters.

    Another platform you could add to this list is www.songshop.ca. You can sell licenses on your songs as well as pitch them for opportunities. There are both paid and free options!
