Make sure this isn't the reason you're not getting subscribers

To my horror, I discovered the confirmation link in my subscription flow to my newsletter was broken. Yikes. Did people try to sign up but failed in the last day or two?

I was messing around with settings in Mailgun, my ESP, and accidentally flipped a bad setting that broke all the links, since other related settings weren't configured correctly.

First things first, I checked the Mailgun logs for email addresses that clicked on a link, but wasn't in my subscriber list. Luckily there weren't that many.

Second, most of us don't sign up for our own service everyday to check if everything's working. While there are website uptime monitoring services, I couldn't find an email subscription monitoring service.

Luckily, my newsletter is about business process automation, and I created a workflow in n8n.io that can monitor your subscription flow for you. It's easily adaptable to Zapier.

Here's the post, and make sure you don't make the same mistake I did!

I had a concern like that for my newsletter yesterday, did a test sign-up, and luckily it was working :)

Yeah, I was just lucky to have caught it because I happened to be doing something else related.
