Making a news app is so so hard!!

So around 6 months ago I decided to make a new kind of reading app. I wanted it to have no news but meaningful articles that will help Entrepreneurs, Makers, IndieHackers, Designers, Investors and anyone related to startups.

An app like this doesn't exist yet and hence it is hard to make people understand that PipFeed is not a news app but an article reading app.

It's articles but not news

Some people wanted local news. Some wanted WallStreetJournal and other news media.

After so much deliberation, we decided to just stick with high quality articles from blogs like gaps, neilpatel, insidermarketing, nichepursuits, dieline and other blogs that produce really amazing articles.

A new kind of reading app

We also had to come up with a new UI/UX to help our readers read better. So we came up with a Deck of card (like tinder) but different. So the articles that you like you can swipe right to see more like that and articles you don't like you can swipe left.

Curation

But Internet is full of SPAM. So we use the swipe gestures to "curate" articles. Blogs that receive a lot of left swipes are removed from the system. While articles that have a lot of right swipe get added to a lot more feeds.

Would love to hear what IH family thinks.

You can try the app here: https://link.pipfeed.com/open

Great start and good luck on the app :)

Mind if I ask, why an app and not maybe a PWA?
    Thanks in advance!

I really like the idea. But your product placement can be better.

Please help me. How can we improve product placement?

We changed the name to Reading App but we dropped down into search results.
How about Reading App? or Article reading app?
What do u think sounds better?
