Making a product demo video. Voiceover or subtitles?

Hi guys! I've developed a simple product MVP but it's nowhere close to being user ready. I'm thinking to create a video that displays the concept of the software to verify my idea.

Should I do voiceover explaining how the video works or just text subtitles on the video?

Thanks!

I would do both. Sometimes, in a public space, I have turn my speakers right down. A person on screen is more engaging, and having subtitles also helps to prevent people from missing thing out if there is background noise or they can't understand the pronunciation of certain words.

Exactly what I'm thinking as well.

Will your product ever be used by people that might have hearing-related disabilities? Will it have an international audience that might not understand the speaker's accent? Text subtitles (they don't have to be burnt-in, but at least available) are a must if you want to be accessible.

While your idea is valid, I feel people have seen more than enough explainer videos. Our attention life span is shorter by the day so a video with just text and voiceover isn't guaranteed to convert as much as it should do.

What you need to do is create a COMPELLING and CREATIVE video content that captures your audience in the first 5 seconds. Tell a story! And I can guarantee a much better conversion rate.

NB: I might be able to help if interested. Cheers

I prefer voiceover, if I'm trying to grasp something new and I'm reading subtitles, it's distracting
