Making the most of a mentorship?

Hi IHers,

I was recently selected for an entrepreneur scholarship, part of which includes a mentorship with an area CEO. This individual has been CEO of 4 tech startups, all with successful exits (2 IPO, 2 acquisition with the most recent acquisition for ~ $500M). In short, he knows his stuff. Having never had a formalized mentor/mentee relationship, I'm curious what I should do to make the most of this opportunity?

A few notes for additional context:

  • I really believe in the anti-growth philosophy. I'm not necessarily looking to raise VC, hire a large staff, and take on the do-or-die mentality that accompanies that.
  • I have zero professional network, so that aspect of the mentor relationship is readily apparent to me, and a large part of why I pursued this opportunity.

I appreciate your feedback!
