Quick context: Japan publishes free company registry data (name, status, address) but only in Japanese, via government-only formats. I put together a small API that
normalizes it into clean English JSON, aimed at anyone outside Japan doing vendor verification, KYC-adjacent screening, or biz intel involving Japanese companies.
Demo here (see real example responses, no sign-up needed): https://jp-company-data.pages.dev/
I'm not sure yet if "English + clean formatting" is enough of a wedge against the free
government source, so I'm being upfront: this is pre-revenue, pricing is a placeholder
($49/mo and $199/mo tiers) to gauge what people would actually pay.
If you've ever needed to check a Japanese company from abroad — what did you use, and
what was painful about it? And honestly, would something like this be worth paying for,
or is the free government data good enough once someone else does the searching?
