I run Datalyze, an analytics agency. Have worked with 100+ startups. My website is joindatalyze.com
I was recently checking users on my website, and saw that 60 users over the last 30 days come to my contact page where they could directly book a call with me - however, not a single person has booked a call.
I want to get some feedback from real users on the website - is this about the website being off, or design, or something else?
Would appreciate some feedback.
60 visits to contact with zero bookings is painful
Split that helped me diagnose similar:
Also for Datalyze — is the sale mostly async (email/proposal) or do you actually expect live discovery calls before someone hires you?
Different fixes depending on answer. very curious which bucket you're in.
I run a small consulting company as well. We’re not huge, and our website is definitely more “old-school” than modern.
We do Kubernetes, DevOps, infrastructure work, and similar things. Every now and then, we get an inbound request, and I usually ask two questions:
“How did you find our website?”
“Why did you choose us?”
One client once pointed to a not-perfectly-polished team photo and said something like: “You seem grounded and technical.”
That actually mattered to them. The fact that we didn’t look overly polished or like a generic agency helped build trust, and the project happened partly because of that.
Not sure if this helps, but in my case, being authentic worked better than looking perfect.
Another thing that worked well for us was having very concrete offers on the site. For example, something like an audit. People were actively searching for that, and it led to one or two projects.
Looking at your site, I’m not sure whether the issue is design specifically. It may be that it feels a bit too impersonal for someone who is about to book a call with a consultant. But that might also be subjective.
