Hello, Hackers!
So, I am a Marketer and I have been in SaaS for like 2 years now. I had the honor of working with some saas products. I know marketing inside out but I am struggling to understand the development side of a SaaS product.
I want to at least have a basic understanding of the development and the technologies used to develop a product.
I mean I have heard people talking about techstacks, API, Firebase, etc. For me these are just some of the alien names that I don't understand.
Is there any resource available on the internet that basically tells educates marketing people about development?
You can also comment if you can explain it.
Hey Haroon,
I've co-founded successful startups as CTO and am always happy when people try to look over the edge. Let me try sharing some (simplified) basics with you and maybe you have some specific questions from there :)
Hope this helps a bit!
Cheers,
T
Thanks man.
Now, most of the things are clear now.
let me see if i can explain, let me know when you are not able to understand and i will try to simplify further.
So lets start with what you do know
Now you can either stick to html+css+js or you can combine them together with some common utilities so that you don't have to write same functionality again and again this combination is called framework in this case it would be frontend framework some exmples are angular, vue, react etc.
I have skipped some details to simplify things feel free to ask if you don't understand something or need further elaboration.
Loved it.
You have explained it very well. Now it makes sense because I use to hear too many terms but never knew how all of these work together.
I have a few more questions but I am gonna search for their answers myself first.
Thanks mate
feel free to mail me in case you don't understand anything my email is in my profile.
I'll reach out to you. Thanks
I strongly recommend taking some basic courses on teamtreehouse.com. I have been recommending them for many years.
I'll check it out. Thanks
Hey Haroon,
I am a software engineer turned entrepreneur. I struggle with marketing and sales, so I can relate to what you’re going through. The information previously shared by others is spot on so I won’t repost it. My advice is reach out to technical people on social media. You’d be surprised how many people are willing to help. Good luck!
These comments have been really helpful. I am studying technical stuff and now it all makes sense and I can clearly relate it back to the above-mentioned branches.
I'll try that as well.
