Hi all, so I just released my new iOS app (link in my profile), which finally made me able to have a >$100 starting MRR. I am very excited about it but I wonder what should I do next to really grow my iOS app user pool? Specifically:
- Will it be able to grow organically within the App Store if I just leave it there? I found a lot of successful iOS developers don't promote their apps very much but their app store data keeps growing over time.
- Or should I focus fully on Marketing? like buying ads?
- Or should I just further enrich the functionalities?
Thanks in advance for your ideas.
If your app shows up not to far down in the App Store search results for the relevant search terms, my experience is that you probably will have some organic growth.
Unless you have lots of money to spend on marketing, my recommendation would be to focus on making your app icon and screenshots enticing. Also it helps to have a website / landing-page to get those users who search on the web instead of within the App Store.
In case you get feedback asking for a feature from multiple users, it is probably something you should consider adding.
thanks for your advice!
Hi, Adam, hope you have determined on your choice and worked great. I am just wanting to remind that if you do marketing, you should track the important metrics, which can tell whether your marketing effort pays off. For example, if you do apple search ads, you can track the acquisition and conversion funnel to see how the ads are going on and whether they are actually bringing revenue. And then you can make adjustment and better marketing budget allocation.
Our product, appflow.ai can integrate with apple search ads and track real-time post-install funnels for you on the level of keywords, channels, and campaigns. You can check the funnel analysis demo here:
https://dash.appflow.ai/#/analytics/funnels?app_id=$_all&time=now-6d&time=now&environment=sandbox&environment=prod&funnel_event_isCustomEvent=true&funnel_event_events=trial&funnel_event_events=subscription&funnel_event_customEvents=trial&funnel_event_customEvents=subscription&project=6242d1eb31b4fca69faa829d.
Funnel analysis is on our free plan and you can try the product out without credit card.
Thanks for reading and apology for self-promotion(just can't help it)!
I found a post about this topic: https://medium.com/@sm_app_intel/how-to-make-a-successful-indie-app-when-your-odds-are-better-in-vegas-f51186d1f36, I think I can try the following approaches next:
