What is the quickest way to build a marketplace for services (like UpWork) with a very customized front-end?
Just like there is BulletTrain, which is a RoR boilerplate for SaaS products, is there anything similar for Marketplace products?
It's called something along the lines of ShareTribe, if my vague memory serves me right...
Thanks. I’ve checked out ShareTribe. It looks cool. It isn’t exactly a boilerplate that you can just buy and later pay for updates and re-use on new projects (the BulletTrain model), or just modify if you pivot. They’re more of a marketplace platform as a service. They have monthly fees that are pricier imho for their Flex offering (which allows you to code your own front-end).
Ah, I see. My apologies, I read into your original post incorrectly. Cheers!
If you're open to trying out no-code tools and test out the market for it, do check out bubble.io and it's marketplace. You would find a lot of companies who have created such templates on top of bubble which you can use and customise.
Bubble has basic templates for almost all types of apps. Here is one for Upwork. It is only a landing page, so you have to build functionality. I used one of their templates to make an Airbnb style site. https://bubble.io/template/freelancer-marketplace--upwork-1643183860056x770639732833779700
Hi all, I recently made a marketplace boilerplate. You can check it out here: https://www.speedbuildmarketplace.com/
Do you have updates on which platform you eventually went with?
What are the main features you need? I imagine it would be similar to SaaS, but also user to user payouts using Stripe connect. Any other defining features? I’m interested in eventually building some marketplace templates for Divjoy.
For user-to-user payments, some escrow functionality would be nice. Since I’m interested in a service marketplace, features like Job posting, job contracts with payout terms and milestones, messaging and portfolio items for each user would be helpful.
