Material dark theme

I've entriely restyled my website, trashed bootstrap and now I'm using materializecss. I decided to go with a dark theme along with cards. At a first sight, do you like it?

Dark cards on dark background, even with the shadow, are not well visible. Try to use more shades of grey in your colour palette

I would have used a slightly clearer black, like a dark grey but still with contrast.

EDIT: I'd have changed shadow color as @Sam_insurgent suggested, but it'd be too hacky, so I went for background.
