MCP Servers: Making AI really useful and powerful

I’ve always had this dumb little fantasy of having a virtual assistant that does more than just answer me in a polite, British butler voice. More than once, I’ve found myself chatting with ChatGPT, Claude, or whichever AI was trending that day, thinking, “Man, wouldn’t it be nice if this thing could actually read through my documents, send a WhatsApp message, or do this or that without me lifting a finger?”

Well, turns out MCP servers do exactly that. (In case you had no clue what the hell those are, there you go, now you know.) And honestly? This is just the beginning.

I can see a future where AI integrates seamlessly into the stuff we use every day: our calendars, our emails, the software we work with, our browsers, everything. It blends in, sneaks into our routines without us even noticing. And that’s when we’ll finally have a real agent, something that actually saves us time on all the pointless little tasks so we can focus on more interesting things.

So yeah, this post is short, but I’m dropping it here as the starting point for this side project. The plan is to launch the first version this weekend, so if you are into AI stay tuned!

This resonates — running 6 fulfillment adapters behind one MCP router contract has been the year's biggest unlock for me. The piece I'd add: the contract is the product, not the count. 2 production-validated adapters + 4 in vendor onboarding feels weaker in marketing copy than "6 adapters live," but it's the only framing that survives a customer integration call. Path B honesty > vanity counts. Launching mine on PH Sat May 16 if anyone wants to see the spec.

Love the 'British butler' analogy, indieyak! I’ve had that same fantasy. MCP is definitely the bridge that turns AI from a fancy chatbot into a practical worker.

I’ve actually just submitted my project, AgentShare, to your directory! It’s focused on providing a structured price and offer infrastructure specifically for these agents. I believe for an agent to be truly 'powerful' as you mentioned, it needs to understand the real-world value and costs of things without messy scraping.

Can't wait to see the first version this weekend. Sticking around for the launch!

Thanks, Minkolov! I’ll definitely keep you all updated on the progress.

I have to admit, the plan was to launch a first version this weekend, but… well, life happens. So ideally it will be between today and tomorrow!

This sounds really cool. The idea of AI actually handling tasks instead of just chatting is something I've been thinking about too. How are you planning to get early users? Are you focusing on a specific group or just putting it out there and seeing who’s interested?

Hello! Thanks for the comment, it really helps!

About the question regarding initial users… ha, that’s a tough one. Honestly, I think for now I’m just going to focus on launching a first version and gradually adding tools and options. I don’t have much experience with user acquisition strategies or anything like that, and I also don’t think I want to spend my life on social media begging for visitors.

For now, I’m taking it more as a personal challenge that will grow in stages—starting with something very basic and then expanding it based on the feedback I get from users.

Thanks for sharing, I totally get that. Focusing on building first makes sense.

If at any point you’d like help with getting early users without the “begging on social media” part, I’d be happy to share some ideas. I’ve helped a few early-stage founders with user acquisition strategies (especially for AI tools) that don’t require constant social media grind.

Either way, excited to see how MCP evolves!
