Its a good reminder that you don’t need to be plastered everywhere I’m the need to succeed.
Just curious, did the research notice any groupings or b2b categories where one did need a lot of tech oresss to succeed or was it sort of just random?
I don't believe that was part of the research but will pass that on in case we do another round. That said, I'm not sure there is any category where one "needs" press — it all depends on what traction channel you want to focus on for your business and how well it does. Press (or lack thereof) hopefully shouldn't be something that you should rely on since (as this article shows) it's really biased.
My colleague @einarvollset did a bunch of research to quantify the depth of the software industry, considering that tech press doesn't cover indie startups. Happy to answer any questions anyone has. 👍
