Medium, but for erotic literature. good idea?
Hi, guys. Hope everyone fine.
New to this community and bit of an IT noob.
always wanted to have a company/website of mine (as a hobby), and ^this is the idea we start with.
so got a couple of questions..
a) is this a good idea? (don't like the current available websites; too cluttered etc., sometimes you just want to read a good sex story without too many unwanted pictures/ads etc.)
&
b) where should i start? (as i don't have much IT knowledge, close to zero actually, but willing to learn. btw have some good ideas for the website, just no software/IT knowledge. for example, one great little idea is in place of 'night mode' we will use 'lights out'.)

A) what is the issue with the current market that would attract customers to your market versus the current sites?
B) I suspect the author want to be anonymous to a degree and a simple start would be a #nocode site that you would upload manually for till you built a user base up. I think you would some form of validation to avoid “Bad” content as well.
What would the revenue model be for this? Random thoughts as i have thought about something similar in the past.

A) Customers will come to our site for the same reason customers went to medium in the beginning days, a clean distractionless U/I. Quality followed, wasn't there in the early days. we can have maybe 'no ads' policy.
B) Yes, authors need to be anonymous. Thinking of giving everyone a common prefix , say Dirtygirl(followed by a unique number), so everyone (females) on the site will look like this Dirtygirl1186, Dirtygirl22109 etc.. Later we can introduce some badges for good contributers. btw still thinking what should be the common name for male contributors.. should be something with "hard" :).. and agree that we need to keep some kind of control over the quality of content, i.e. some kind of discouragement to bad content providers, but so far couldn't decide in which form it should be.
Lastly, revenue model in the initial days would be patreon, followed by subscription model in future, once we get enough quality content on the site.
I think it would work as well SSAAS is a service that people will want. Breaking into the market would be tough though.
You could start with something like Gravity - https://usegravity.app as a starting point and then add in the features you want or start hacking it together yourself.
In my spare time i have been learning react and built up a little user auth for my needs. Might be interesting to add in a “story” concept into it at some point as I want i am doing is similar to an extend. Let me know if you want to talk more
