MemberStack v MemberSpace?

Thoughts? Which one is better?

  1. 3

I've been using Memberstack for 7 months now and I find it really awesome.
Easy to use and super powerful.
    I'm using it with Webflow.
    I've not tried Memberspace yet.

I'm not sure there is anyone who has used both.
I've used Memberspace for Better Sheets and I've enjoyed it.

Memberspace CEO Ward is here on IndieHackers. @wardsandler

And Memberstack is here too: @naitik

I found Memberspace easy to work with. Their support is supportive!
And they are adding integrations all the time. Just recently added Circle.so which I might try out soon.

Not having tried Memberspace, I can say that Memberstack is fantastic.

Really use to implement and configure with Webflow, and the ability to trigger Zapier events makes it a really powerful tool.

I see that the pricing is superior but, the service seems basically the same.

So there's definitely overlap in our services, but I'd argue we have some key features which justify our price difference and make a huge impact when you're actually generating member revenue at scale. For example, our revenue recovery features (see our FAQ https://www.memberspace.com/signup/#recovery). We have a number of customers generating six figures a month via MemberSpace and those features alone save them thousands of dollars a month 💪

    Neither! Come try https://trypico.com :-)

In addition to all the features you'd expect, main differentiation is:

    • prebuilt landing pages for multiple payment types (membership, subscription, paid newsletter, donation)
    • prebuilt (free/paid) member account UI and integrated email signup popups
    • SSO options available for signup

Having the free signups integrate into checkout boosts payment conversion considerably (we have communities converting 20-30% of their signed up users to paid).

Hey Bilal, Ward here from MemberSpace 👋

I'd say each tool could be a good fit depending on your use case. Do you mind elaborating on what you're trying to build?

    1. 2

Hey Ward - I have a Gatsby (React based site) where I would like to add some user auth and hide a page or two based on certain fields like isSignedIn or isPaying etc. I've been using Firebase and it works but was curious if there was an easier way to get this out of the box.

It seems you're targeting the no-code crowd mostly (Webflow) but was wondering if this can be easily integrated on something like my site (a gatsby plugin for this would be super cool).

      1. 1

Yup you could definitely use us to handle that use case out of the box - that's our bread and butter :)

And if you wanted to get more nuanced, we have a simple API as well: https://help.memberspace.com/article/162-javascript-hook-developers-only

We have a bunch of customers on static sites so it would be easy to implement and install MemberSpace.

The other nice part - if you ever move off of Gatsby to some other CMS like Webflow or another static site generator like Jekyll, all you have to do is add our install code into the global <head> and place any member login/signup links you want within your pages. From your member's perspective, they never have to recreate their account or re-enter billing details 🙌

        1. 1

Nice - I'll look into it. I think you will definitely benefit if there were starter/examples of this implemented in React/Gatsby (could be components or plugins or all out themes).
A lot of users look for those to have something to work with out of the box. If I get time I might try to put together something.

          1. 1

Yea I'd be happy to help answer any questions you have (and promote it) if you get a chance to work on a plugin 👍
