Mentorship for Founders
Hi All,
What should I look for in a mentor?
Many founders work with mentors to improve their personal and business skills. Others participate in mastermind groups. I've seen some companies online offer mentorships but I'm not sure what process a good mentor follows and what advice I should be expecting to get from a good one. What do you think?

Firstly (and imprecisely), I think, the mentor fills in a need of a moment. They are the missing piece setting you in motion when nothing and nobody else can. Mentors help when you are stuck.
There are plenty of people who are willing to share their insights about their journey. It is easy to buy a book or several ones.
In comparison, I personally do not expect to be a mentor from a company, i. e. somebody you contract, a worthwile choice.
Look for good relationships, and for role models, actually this search is a mix of openmindedness, being friendly, following your impulses, and a bit of luck. (After all you would rather travel universe's plan than yours.)
Reach out around where you live, within the next big city, in your country. And ask for answers to things that bother you. Ask, too, if somebody know somebody.
I think, many people will happily give advice to someone who is aspiring -- just for the joy of conversation and teaching in return.
If they consider it work, it is not mentoring, in my opinion.
