MERN Stack VS Next.js

I've been using the MERN stack (Mongo, Express, React, Node) for a while now. To deal with the SEO limitations of React I've used React Router and React Helmet. With the rise of Next.js I'm trying to fully understand the benefits of using Next VS the set up I just mentioned. Can anyone fill me in?

I’m in the opposite position of sorts, I don’t see the benefits to using MERN opposed to Next.js and Firebase (i’d love an explanation)

I can speak on using Next vs React Router and React Helmet though, Next is great. Super easy to configure routes opposed to react router, it’s just your folder structure and then you’re set.

As for making it SEO friendly, it’s simply a matter of inserting one of the functions at the top of your page depending if you want SSR, SSG or ISR.

I’ve only worked with Next for a little bit though but found it much easier than React Router and Helmet. That’s just my practical impression on why using Next is so great, you’ll be able to find plenty of other in depth technical reasons with other people though.
