Metrics to observe startup growth?

As a startup enthusiast, I constantly try to observe and learn about new startup and their growth. Although there is no go-to place for this, I read a news article and follow forums. What do you think are the key metrics or parameters you'd use to observe the #growth of a #startup, apart from the obvious (like funding, MAUs). ?Thanks
