Mic Issues for Guests

What you're experiencing is a big deal, and something practically all podcasters have dealt at one point or another... here's a few things to help out:

• record locally when possible (easiest fix is to avoid the problem, of course that's not always possible...)
• set quality expectations upfront and send them a pre-recording check list (I've made one for hosts & guests - https://www.recordeditpodcast.com/podcast-recording-checklist , I won't spam you if you download) or make your own!
• part 2, to the above - create a copy/paste email with bullet-ed action steps to ensure your guest has the smoothest podcasting experience & highest possible recording quality
• chat with other podcasters! They've often had to overcome many audio issues & know how to get good recordings
• worst case & recommended anyway...learn a bit of audio engineering & sound restoration, not only will this help know how to give yourself a more polished sound, your ears will be better trained at spotting, then correcting audio-related issues

Have you heard of Krisp.ai app? It really helps to reduce any background noise. So I'd simply apply to this guys to get that app=)

Have your guest send a test recording so you know if there’s going to be a problem in advance.

Go to them whenever possible.
